i went to Costa Rica last month and the people there are so friendly that i didn't want to leave. i stayed on a resort called punta islita and i recommend that you travel there one day. They have a zipline which is great,it goes right over the rainforest, they also had surf lessons. ANd i have surfed before but before the lesson i stunk but now im great. ALso if you like animals go there because i saw over 80 monkeys on the resort. Also if you cant speal spanish the people there help u with that.

ticas/ticos ( what Costa Ricans call themselves ) love everyone. it's one of the most laid back and loving places I've ever traveled to. i would totally recommend it! ( plus, you know they have their own white, black, and indigenous peoples! )

In Costa Rica we don't care where you're from .. We are like the USA when it comes to the people that live here. We have blond people, we have red heads, we have chinese people that are costa ricans, we obviously have the latin look, just to name a few. And we have black people, just like the black people from the USA. You would actually confuse them with americans if you saw them, but some don't speak English. So you'll blend right in ... no worries, we have a great country and even though we (Latins/Hispanics) get treated like dirt when we visit the USA, we don't return the favor. So enjoy your self and instead of thank you, make sure you say "Pura Vida" !!!!!!!

first, there is no such a thing as African-American here. You will be just black or Caribbean.I am white from EU my husband that I met in US is from Limon(they told you about black people there). We moved here because I didn't want my son to ask the same questions as you one day.Come, you will be amassed what is like to walk down the street and have people appreciate you for your smile and not the color. And I am saying this from both sides,I had black people hate me because I was "stealing" a brother and I had white people hate me because I was betraying the race.Email me.......

P.S.By the way the other people are right...everybody is very friendly here.People are willing to help, smile.

I've been to Costa Rica, and one of my co-workers who is african american has also been there on vacation.
We both loved it! Costa Ricans are very frinedly, and everybody speaks english, and the food is awesome!
I would highly recommend going there if you are considering it for a vacation destination.
