Caracas is very dangerous- people get shot dead over nothing, and the cops are more dangerous than the gangs. Stay away from the cops.
But the city is also beautiful. If you know some local to show you around- do so.
Margarita Island is full of tourists and not that great- you can go to any other resort-dominated island to see that crap.
Angel falls are amazing- worth the 3 day trek to get there.
Los Roches are islands N of caracas- also beautiful. Highly reccomended.
People are nice in the villages. But anyone who doesn't speak perfect spanish is a gringo to them.
The women are only beautiful in pageants, in Caracas most of the women I saw were fat and short.
Colombian girls are much much hotter. (Cali and Medellin) |

The president of Venezuela is an exceptionally rude oaf- with a real need to spend time around more civilized and polite folk who might be able to influence him into acting like something other than a lunatic. But that is all I know about Venzuela. |

How would you like to own a home (or several), only to have illegal squatters live there rent free while you're paying the mortgage???? Then to add insult to injury, how would you like some idiot like Chavez come along and give those squatters the deed to your home????? Yes - that's right!!! You're paying for it - they stealing it! Indeed Venezuela is a beautiful country - but it's been overrun and destroyed by Chavez and the peasants! |

I've been there and to Margarita Island. It was a while ago but I remember it was very green with a big divide between rich and poor. |
