Finding someone in CR can be very time consuming and costly. Just because CR is a small country, does not mean it will make it an easy. Face the fact, some people just do not want to be found. I hope that is not in your case.

You can get lucky and in some cases a Google search will help you. However, as Attorney Kearney mentioned, it probably requires the professional services of something like a PI and/or attorney, and/or as Schattenjagger Católico offered, help from the Catholic Church.

The Mormon church in the US does offer a search for relatives and they do charge a fee (my adopted niece did this years ago to find her birth mom and was successful) and just guessing I would assume they may offer the same from their temple in San Jose.

Whichever way you go, best of wishes to find your love one.
