Does anyone have tips for travelling in Costa Rica?

I'd like to visit the Guanacaste province in late March. I would like to be able to visit some beaches, take in a few adventures, enjoy some seafood, drink a few beers, and party. Does it make sense to stay in Brasilito? I would like to be able to split time between Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo, and Playa Conchal.

Any thoughts?

que pos and never look back. Take extra baggage, you won't want to come home. Costa Rica is beautiful Que Pos, a little beach city, is muy tranquillo. passed through there 2 years ago on my way to Panama from Nicaruga. never made it to Pamama. stayed for 6 days. met a guy that went 12 years ago to surf for 10 days. he's still there. never came back

Brasilito is a nice place to stay and make it your homebase. It is close to Tamarindo, Flamingo, Conchal and Playas del Coco.
There are a lot of nice small hotels around there.
Enjoy your trip.

It's a beautifull area and we go every march/april. But Tamarindo is a bit to commercial for me plus the water pollution is awefull there. We stay across the bay north of Flamingo in Portrero and love it. If you are looking for a place then get ahold of Jorge Me'ndez at Emerald Shores Realty at rentals@emeraldshorerealty.net or call him at 506-654-4554 or 506-822-4882. He is fairly bilingual and a super guy, full of info and help. Since you plan on Flamingo you have to go to Marie's Restaurant there and if your up for an afternoon on the water contact www.lazylizardsailing.com, Capt Adam and his crew spoil you with drinks, snacks and hospitallity that you'll never forget. Bring your camera for the sunset shots, it's beautifull ! Also even if you don't stay there you must eat and have drinks at Ristorante Marco Polo at Portrero, its a whole Tuscany style village complete with an Italian Chef. Reasonable and VERY nice {their drinks are to die for}, say Hi to Orlando the owner and enjoy yourself. If you drink the beer in CR be prepared to not being able to stomach a beer stateside for about 30 days. I didn't know how terrible our beer was until drinking theirs. The Corona is good but the Imperial was my favorite. Try the Ice Lime at your own risk, it tastes like salty rotten limes, unpalitable. Outback-Jacks in Brasilito is a tasty Aussie restaurant that shouldn't be missed and on friday/saturday nights across the street usually has dancing. If I can help more just e-mail me and enjoy !

You could stay in Brasilito depending upon your lodging requirements. (Note that the dry season is the most busy for Costa Rica and lodging can be difficult to find). I have not stayed in that town but do know that many lodging opportunities exist in the Tamarindo area. If you have never been to this area, note that there is more "partying" in Tamarindo because of its surf town orientation. Late March will still be dry so little worries with summer storms. Bus service exists with some consistency. Suggest you check with a company called Surf Express as they are up to date on most current lodging availabilities during what can be a very busy time of the year for Guanacaste (and all of the Pacific pensulia).
