Hmmm... first answerer is very wrong. People here in El Salvador don´t wear shorts and T-Shirts... only the tourists ! The typical Salvadorean takes pride on its clothing and general appearance, and shorts are seen as a sign of low values, or attributed to someone who doesn´t know how to dress. Buttoned shirt and pants for men, skirt and dress for women, that is the most seen. |

the men and women actually wear very nice clothes and care alot about how they look usually only the less fortunate people wear shorts, t-shiirts and casual clothing men usualy wear blouses with button downs and women mostly wear skirts and nice shirts, good luck!!! ;) |

Yeah, no one wears shorts here! Maybe to the beach. But most of us like to wear jeans, nice tops, we love shoes. Young middle & upper class shop at stores like bershka, zara & pull&bear. So we are quite fashionable and up to date! Middle aged people wear what #2 said: nice pants, long sleeved shirts, skirts, dresses... |

Sorta like over in the US. Some aren't so up-to-date, oh well. It's warm down there, so most people wear shorts and t-shirts. Just don't dress too fancy. |

In El Salvador you have to dress well... People uses high designers names. Shorts are used only by americans and tourist people to go to the beach... But hey! Wake up! El Salvador and all Central America are developed countries!!!! |

OK I am American but my dad is Salvadorian and I go there a lot. I went with shorts and people just look at me. It depends really what part of El Salvador you go to. In San Salvador and Santa Tecla (the capital and a neighboring city) the youth like to dress casual (you know Jeans, T-Shirts and maybe a watch). I have noticed that the university like to wear dress shoes with jeans and a polo. In the rural are the people like to dress more "cultural" and will wear typical dresses and clothes. ii hope this helps. |
