Some places I have seen in person. If you like the beach and don't want to leave the mainland, try the Tela Beach Resort. Is about 15 minute drive from Tela on a dirt road. Maybe is why many don't venture there. Once there you are glad you took the time. Not alot of people, food is great, very relaxing. They have little cabanas for rent. Nice big pool. ocean is great.
If you like golf and want to experience a bit of history go to La Lima and play at the course that was build years ago by the American banana company that had built it for its employees that came from the U.S. Has a big pool and other things to do.
Other than that get on WWW.HONDURAS.COM |

If diversity is what you want, traveling to Honduras would be a great option. You can see a little bit of everything, from fantastic beaches and diving in the Bay Islands (Utila, Roatan and Guanaja), to majestic mayan ruins in Copán, to lush rainforrests (La Mosquitia) and everything in between.
I would recommend the website letsgohonduras.com which is run by the Honduran Ministry of Tourism, it has links to everything you could want to know, and it´ll help you organize your trip.
Ecotourism is booming right now, and various tour operators can set you up for whitewater rafting in the Cangrejal River, Canopy adventure tours, deep sea fishing, and just about anything you can imagine.
In addition, I would also recommend visiting some of the small precolombine towns throughout the country, they all have very appealing architecture and you really get to know the country.
Overall, you get to experience a great deal of thingsin Honduras, and it´s truly a trip worth taking.
Happy travels. |
