BooNaaNaa =]

First trip to Latin America, where should i go?

Has to be hot, need to work on my tan ;)
people have to be friendly and it has to be safe
nice beaches, but a big city to explore and shop etc
my Spanish is okay, but i cannot speak Portuguese, so it would have to be a area where people can speak quite good English :)
i want to be able to visit the rain forest during my stay, and go to a zoo
i want to do some water sports, i scuba dive, so that would be cool
lots of young people and entertainment in the day and night

where shall i go people, i am open to anybodies suggestions :)

> even though Guyana is not really L/A, it's on my consideration list

I would pick HONDURAS!!!!!!!!This country is safe, and it is known as the best kept secret of Central America. A bird watchers ecstasy, and Eco-tourist's paradise. It is full of untouched beauty, and active cities. You can scuba dive there because it is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world. You can soak up the sun and tan on beautiful beaches, explore ancient Mayan ruins( Copan is known as the Athens, of the Mayan world), Explore La Moskitia, the largest expanse of tropical rain forest north of the Amazon. Or Pico Bonito, etc. Honduras is the most forested country in Central America. The people are friendly, the big cities host shopping malls, and great night life. And English is spoken at tourist destinations. Especially the gorgeous emerald green Bay Islands that are surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Caribbean sea. Oh and you must see Pulhapanzak waterfalls, it is absolutely breath taking!!! Oh an for the zoo, check out the Tegucigalpa metropolitan zoo. But In Honduras, if you walk into a rainforest or one of the wild life refuges, you won't need a zoo( Cuero y Salado wild life refuge is amazing) but hey, go and

The north coast of Honduras and Bay Islands have everything on your list except a Zoo. The islands offer beaches, scuba diving and water sports, lots of young people and most speak both spanish and english.
A short ferry ride away on the mainland is La Ceiba, the third largest city in the country and reputed to be the biggest party town between New Orleans and Rio de Janeiro. Nearby is the Pico Bonito National park with rain forests and white water rapids and, of course, more white sand beaches. Honduras also is one of the most inexpensive places to visit in all of Central America. Google Roatan, the Bay Islands of Honduras, or La Ceiba, Honduras to get all the info you need.

Hi
Will recommend San Andres Island in Colombia, everybody speaks english there. You will love that place for sure trust me. It is comparable to Bora Bora but cheaper. You can see the pictures of the island online.

COSTA RICA seems to be the best place that has all your requirements, many things to see and do, many people speak at least some english, the rain forest, the cloud forest, swimming, fishing, sunbathing, many good malls and almost perfect weather.
Costa Ria is most peoples favorite place.

HONDURAS, fits all your needs. I would book the next flight. Oh and when I vacationed there, I went to the Pico Bonito lodge in La Ceiba, Honduras. It's this really nice place, located in the rain forest, and the staff spoke English. Plus La Ceiba is booming with life, you should see their annual carnival festival.

Ecuador for sure....it is awonderful place to go, it has alot of places to visit, the people are so nice and helpful, and they try to make you feel at home, and there is alot of beautiful places to visit, and the night life, the place to party are so beautiful not only the quality of the places but the people that go there too........the beaches are clean beautiful and surrounded by hot people the culture is amazing and so diverse that you wont get tired of it......and for sure is alot safer and more beautil that honduras or peru.
