RedPower Woman

For those who know South America well?

Okay I am looking for this place in South America.
I will describe to you what I know about it and if you have any ideas where it might be please let me know.
I know it is not a lot of information to go off of and South America is very big but any help I can get I would appreciate.

The location has an old building that may look something like this. It is a picture I hold in my head but am not sure how to describe. It is like if you had squares that increasingly get smaller and are stacked on one another. It is a brow, tan, red, earthy color I think.
And there is an Indigenous group there. Perhaps a smaller group. Their value system is honorable and they believe in being of service to their community members. They are hard workers. A tight-knit community.
They still live and work around/in the area where the building is.

My dear, this is a tough one!
The building looks like a Machu Pichu pyramid.
It is located in Peru.
This place (if it is the one I think it is) is one of the most interesting places in the world if you are interested in Archaeology, History or mystic stuff.

you make it sound like MACHU PICHU in peru.

Enrique
As the other people say: Machu pichu...? Peru

Or Easter Island (Rapa Nui)...? Chile. *Statues, no squares.
