Galapagos Tortoises?
Why do people hunt and take tortoises in the Galapagos??
Happily The incidences of that are few and far between. Fishing is also prohibited there, but in 2006 we found at least three hooks on the bottom at Darwins Arch. I dont know why people do that stuff. I was fortunate enough to get there before lonesome george died. The big tortises were awesome as were the marine iguanas and the penguins.

On this island, all species evolved seperate from other parts of the world. This island is how scientist base the theory of evolution. These turtles are some of the rarest in the world, watch the travel/discovery Channle. They are prized for thier size and age, rumored to live for over 500 years.
