OK, not sure where you are but presume you're in Canada now. You could bring them some distinctly Canadian items, "small but sweet", if you will. Ie, some pure Canadian maple syrup, some "Canadian only" candy bars, or maybe some wee bottles of icewine sold at your LCBO. Canada is known for its terrific icewine and the small bottles would be both affordable and easy to pack. Certainly not something they would easily get anywhere in Guatemala - and perhaps a new experience for them to try it !

If you're in the US as we speak (type), then same applies. Think of a few small sweet items that you could bring from your local area -- makes it personal -- and brings a little of your home to them.

Another idea altogether is bringing those inexpensive clear picture frames that have magnetic backing and put 4 x 6s photos (you with them) in them. Good friends, good memories, so to speak. Then take more pics while you're there and give them a set to keep and insert of your terrific time together. -- CK

Well........... bring them things that definitely are not found in Guatemala...... electronics is a good choice, if you have relatives that have children, for sure they will be so happy if you bring them for example electronic games, or tamagotchies or small things like that, also Disney stuff for kids is always a good choice.

But do not bring clothes for your relatives because MOST of the clothes that are sold in the USA are made IN GUATEMALA, and people can find them cheap in little stores in residential areas (for sure NEW clothes that are excess of production not sent to the USA). Just in case it is something they cannot find in Guatemala like Sport Clubs clothes and those kind of souvenir, for sure they will love them.

Candies? Mmm that is not a good option, people can get lot of imported candies and chocolates everywhere.

Good luck

I went through the same thing... I'm going to Indonesia and I have to bring gifts...well I dont have to, but I did anyway. Basically, they will LOVE anything "made in USA". For the ladies.. I bought those bath & body works spray and lotion. They usually have sales buy 1 get 1 free...or 4 for $10 stuff. Then the guys I just bought shirts...like "I Love NY" type..since I'm in NY. =) Good luck and have fun!!!

Why not bring something from where you live- that they are known for??? Wine, Chocolate, salt water taffy, etc. If that is not good do you follow a sports teams or school...that you could bring Hats or T-shirts....Mickey Mouse is Universally liked... I love fancy bath stuff- you could always buy that for women....

Enjoy your trip....Whatever you bring try to make it personal... These kinds of gifts are often awkward but I've never regretted giving of myself.

Buy a big basket and fill it out with items you think they might meed and give it as a gift for all of them, let them choose what they want.

What I did last time, I bought, bath & body works, lotions, they loved it and the price cheap. This time I'm taking candies, bags of m&ms, mini snickers, etc. You can buy souvenirs t-shirts or key chains, in central american countries they love anything that comes from the US,doesn't matter the size.
