Depending on the length of time you have, there are lots of things to keep you occupied. The volcanoes are beautiful, especially Volcan Arenal, there is a resort there called Tabacon Hotsprings where you can bathe, sun and generally enjoy yourself in view of the volcanoe. Also there are many rainforest tours available, probably through your hotel. Another must see is the Quaker Farm where they offer tours of the whole place which is quite grand. If you fancy it you can go whitewater rafting or fish, surf, or dive as there are many places that have world class diving in Costa rica. Visit TicoTimes.net as they are an english speaking newspaper available online. They can answer just about any other questions you might have, and good luck and enjoy your trip as it is a beautiful place.............................

it depends really on how much money u got. Volvan Poas is fantastic theres only 3 volcanoes like it in the world. Manuel Antonio in my opinion is the best beach dont go to jaco or puntarenas.!! But Samara is very nice and cheap. Also San Jose is more expensive than Alajuela. If ur going to stay in a hotel i would recomend Alajuela. Which is 20 to 30 mins in bus to San jose and the bus fair only costs about 75 cents. Well Any other questions get back at me x3la_gatax3@yahoo.com. I might even be able to help you out around here. Good luck. And hope you like it. Get intouch with me before you come.

volcano arenal, osa peninsula, rincon de la veija, cano negro reserve, playa cocles on caribbean coast, manuel antonio on pacific coast.
tabacon hot springs are a rip off- us65 entrance- go to eco thermales instead:

Poas Volcano. It isn't far, on bus, from San Jose. It is very impressive and you can get some excellent pictures using it as a background. My hubbie and I went there for our honeymoon and it was fantastic.
If in San Jose ask for directions to La Hacienda Restaurant; it's beyond excellent.
There are many museums in the city of San Jose which are very good. Also, try the white-water rafting which is soooo exciting. Have a wonderful time; my hubbie and I did.

You must go surfing and you must go into the rain forest.
