Has anyone been to El Salvador? What was your experience like?
Very poor country with friendly natives. Similar to other countries in the region, although they seem to have a larger millitary influence. Prices were very inexpensive relative to American standards. And they had some decent beaches, although they were not maintained to the quality of many other countries in the area.

El Salvador is the best place in the world! The beaches are amazing! The water is always warm! The rain is always warm!
big brotha
it's a country with friendly people, a lot of beatiful places to go (and very close to each other, since it's a small country), good food and everyone is poor but very happy people.
if u go to those turistic places of El Sal. you'd have alot of fun and wont forget your great time you had there!
Just don't carry too much $ with u, and avoid goin to the "ghettos" 'cause that's another world
another thing is that if u go by the time (i cant rembr by when) but you'll get to see alot of rainbows in the sky!
Good luck if u gonna travel there!

Be a wise traveller and stay in residential and hotel areas while in San Salvador where you will find fine restaurants and hotels.
Go the beach, there's a nice resort called Hotel Decameron which is all-inclusive.
Lago Coatepeque is also nice as well as the historic towns of Santa Ana and Suchitoto. El Salvador is friendly and small so while in Central America go to Guatemala and Honduras which are only a few hours away with good roads and easy border checks.
Carry your passport at all times and never carry too much cash. You'll find ATM's almost everywhere...Good luck!
