Has anyone ever been to El Salvador?

Where are your favorite places to go?

I just went myself and loved it. I was in Santa Ana and Metapan. I hope to go back someday, so your favorite places may be my favorite places.

Angel, thanks for the plug!

I love El Salvador! I lived there until I was nine and have visited countless times since I left.

It never ceases to amaze me and I discover new places every time I visit.

At the moment, I'm hooked on the beaches of La Libertad. I love going up and down the coast, staying at little shacks that serve great food, cold Supremas, and some Guaro to chase it down with.

The surfer attitude with the Salvadoran passion exudes all along the beaches there.

You'll notice that beaches that are popular with surfers (both locals and tourists) are much cleaner than other beaches. My guess is that surfers respect the ocean a bit more, and therefore try to keep the beaches clean.

There has been many a time where I've walked along the beach, and will often see a surfer stop to pick up trash along the beach.

Izalco, Nahuizalco, Armenia, Sonsonate, Santa Tecla, and San Salvador are among some of my favorite hangouts in El Salvador. Each for very different reasons.

Parque El Imposible is the last remaining patch of rain forest in El Salvador, and you should visit if you ever have the opportunity.

There are so many places to see in El Salvador. You are guaranteed to have a great time no matter where you visit.

I miss my home country, I'm from Santa Tecla and the last time I visited ES was back in 1995 =(

Although I would love to visit my family and my country, I still hear too many stories of violence and robberies in the streets. It's too bad that ES is such a beautiful country ravaged by earthquakes, hurricanes, wars, and now gangs. I really abhor at how they've posted all those stupid videos like on youtube glorifying that type of lifrstyle, why do people F up themselves so much?!!

Gawd I miss going to the beach, buying fresh clams on the half shell, drinking Kolashampan or Regia, fishing, eating seafood cocktails, and staying up all night long dancing to cumbia. The women are beautiful, the beaches are world reknowned, and the people are hard working.
