For the person above elid1979, San Ignacio is not in Paraguay is in Argentina. I lived on the border of Paraguay (on the Argentinian side) and I believe there is noooothing to do there, nothing touristic. Although what elid said is right, great people but no english at all.

Go to www.travelpod.com You will find all the answers you have on Paraguay and will have a good time reading the exploits of other world travelers, plus lots of good pictures. I guarantee, best travelogue website I have found to date.

Paraguay is my favorite country in Latin America, I have been there for two weeks and found it awsome.
What is there to see there?
Absolutely nothing turistic, thats exactly what made it so charming for me, No Gringos, The population is so nice and doesnt want your money, I have made good friends there.
So, whats i am saying is that basically, If you dont know Spanish, Dont bother going, But if you do, and looking for another type of travel which focuses on getting to know the local population and make friends, travel to the villages near Asuncion like San Ignacio de Iguzu.

Across the friendship bridge from Ciudad del Este Paraguay is the falls of Igauzu. FOZ DO IGUAZU Ciudad del Este reminds me of the bar scene in the first star wars movie
