I visited Ecuador as a medical missionary. It was an amazing trip. Ecuador seems very economically wealthy yet just an hour up the mountains are very poor people that appreciate medical help.
I loved many things about Ecuador...including the skateboard park.

I volunteered in a small town called Bahia de Caraquez on the coast last summer. I was there for three months and had an amazing time. There was a tiny little surfing village called Canoa just up the road from us (well it involved some water travel, then road) which was a great get away from the well beaten tourist trail and a great spot to surf and chill out and party of course, more locals than most places.
