omg i absolutely LOVED venezuela..
i went to northern, it is much more beautiful than southern i hear.
beautiful beaches, hotels, wildlife, and more.

I just got back about a week ago. I went to Angel Falls and took a dugout canoe for 5 days up the Rio Cura. It was fabulous!
One caveat: Crime is rampant in the cities. Met two tourists who were robbed at gun point. Another couple was stranded as a result of check card fraud. I myself was ripped off by a credit card scam. So, be VERY CAREFUL. The indeginous people, however, were very honest and friendly!
Also, go with US dollars in cash and keep them inside your person. Always have a wallet with a few dollars in it to give to any thief.
You can save a bundle with cash, since you can get a 3-1 exchange rate almost anywhere.
