Thanks all for your answers. However in the question I was only reffering to the clothes/baby clothes and baby supplies because they both sell that. I dont care about the other things that they sell. I know they sell other stuff but which one is better for clothing/baby clothing and baby stuff? |

Pequeno mundo will have lower prices but its bit unpredictable what will be on the shelves. It may also have a lot of clothes that are lower quality. SInce baby clothes do not last long anyway- they quickly get outgrown- it is better and cheaper to use the lower quality lower priced clothes most of the time. They same argument holds true for all growing children. For adults pequeno mundo is good for work and play clothes, not so hot for things you want to last and remain presentable. Hypermas is not much better in this category. |

I am looking for some clothes for my little baby too.
Pequeño mundo is a place in which you can find a lot of things cheaper than any other place, but the quality of clothes is low.
Hipermas has medium level quality and average prices but clothes are more coloful and designed than Pequeño Mundo.
I don't want to seem a high-class guy, but if you want good quality and style you can go to Multiplaza Escazu and try Osh-Kosh, Benetton or Cater's.
You will see that Carter's is great, but the price is very high.

Hypermas is Walmart (Costa Rica) - pricing for a large percentage of items has been shown to be below other stores. Pequeno Mundo is similar to Tuesday Morning in the US - meaning it has selected items for discounted prices -some greatly discounted. Selection, however may vary. You do realize that you can buy from a number of outlets in Costa Rica and particularly in the free zones ( in quantity), name brand products at a fraction of the cost. |

These are two different stores.
Hipermas is a supermarket where you can buy food of all national brands and a few imported brands.
They also sell appliances and home products, it is owned by Walmart and similar to it.
Pequeño Mundo is more of a discount shop does not sell food but glassware, knock knacks and the like,
It is more like a thirfty store for buying home products and decorations.
Your comparing oranges and apples here.
