You can either purchase a flight to San Jose which would be around $150 or so I think, or take a bus which would be like $3... Personally i would advice you that if you want to go to San Jose, you might as well just purchase a ticket to Juan Santamaria International Airport. |

Nature Air http://www.natureair.com/ and Sansa http://www.flysansa.com/ have a few flights a day that go from Liberia to San Jose. Flight time is around 1 hr. Check out their websites for costs, times etc
You can also take a bus that could take you all day depending on traffic, road conditions, the same with just renting a car.

I would cancel your plans to fly into Liberia and fly into San Jose' The airport in Liberia is not even worthy of being called an airport and the whole Liberia, Guanacaste, Tamarindo, and Flamigo areas are
B-O-R-I-N-G.
I feel bad for those that spend their whole vacations up there. The West central Pacific coast between Los Suenos, Jaco Beach, Playa Hermosa, and Manuel Antonio are the best places to visit in Costa Rica for the most to see and do....period! |

You can fly to San José, ride a bus which takes about 5 hours or rent a car or get a taxi.
Taxi will probably be about $75-$100 or $200 if it´s a hotel taxi.
Airplane about $150
Bus about $ 5 or $50 if it´s a hotel bus
Car rental about $60 a day
