The best thing you can do is go to the immigration office in the US and ask the requirements. It is important that this costarican girl enters the US legally (with all of her papers ready). Most of the times the immigration office requires that marriage papers get notarized and then consularized in the american embassy of the place of marriage and after completing paperwork and some interviews, the residency is given to your partner.

If you two already married in Costa Rica you could ask for a fiance visa to marry again in the USA. That is how a friend of mine did it and work out fine.

assuming you are a us citizen, it is a lot of paperwork but can be done. i just married a girl from peru but we did it in the usa, it took about 4 months to get a green card and cost almost 2000 dollars. www.uscis.gov is where you will want to start, that is the website where you download all of the forms, and get all the info you will need. I-485 is the most important and then there are a lot of supplemental forms. good luck.
