well in nothing..they are living in the same continent but they hate each other to died, starting with the Malvinas War, Chile helped to the britains to make a militar base in Chile because they need gas and food and need some base close to the war. Argentina signed as a witness in a peace agreement between Peru and Ecuador and later Argentina sold rifles and amunitions to Ecuador. This means that europeans left this kind of rat culture to this countries and rat with rat they want to kill each other.

In Argentina mostly Italian, Polish and some German. In Chile the Brits and the Germans.

they transformed it in all of Latin America otherwise the would all be natives: inkas, mapches,Araucanian's,guaranies etc.
since the Europeans invaded all of America changes are everywhere,in Argentina the second wave of Europeans came after the first war world mostly from Italy and France, they also choose Uruguay and Chile the other countries got their own share of immigrants, new zealanders,Asians and Italians to Peru specially Japanese and Chinese people same goes for Brazil with the most Asian population in all of Latin America so the Europeans actually transform all of the new Continent from Canada to the malvinas.

As said before, Europeans migrated to every single country in America. However, countries like Argentina, Canada, Uruguay and the US were the preferred by them. Countries like Chile, Paraguay and some in central america attracted them so they also count with a significant white population. By saying this I want to make clear that Argentina and Chile didn't had the same European influence.

About the answer, it's quite simple: the same way it happened in the US (I quote the US since it's the country with the most known history).

ST
They made it better
