You have several options. Yes, there are ports in both Buenos Aires, and Montevideo and there are companies that take you from one place to the other, the boat takes about 3 hours and the price is near U$S 100.-.
You have cheaper options, like going from Buenos Aires to Colonia (1 to 3hours trip on boat) and from there take a Bus to Montevideo that takes about another 3 hours. This can cost about U$S 70.-
You can find information on the boats on http://www.buquebus.com since they're the ones offering boat services.
Also a flight from Buenos Aires airport (Aeroparque) costs about U$S 150.- and it takes 45'.

Try http://www.buquebus.com, also you can go by plane, and even car but that is a longer trip!

Hello........
Dont pay attention to William.....he doesn't know anything..
1rst...Córdoba is not in Uruguay.....is a province in Argentine.

You can go from Buenos Aires to Montevideo in many ways.
The tickets are from U$ 80 till U$150 with some little differences.

I use to go by plane...from Carrasco (uruguayan airport) to Aeroparque (in Buenos Aires) it takes about 40 minutes and is comfortable.

Other way is Buquebus..they provide the bus and the boat from Buenos Aires to Montevideo and back .(that is by Colonia, an uruguayan city close to Buenos Aires)

And the other option is direct from Buenos Aires port, to the port in Montevideo...it takes about 3 hours (in the night it can be more bcoz they stop in middle of the Rio de la Plata making time to arrive to Buenos Aires early in the morning)

there is a hydroplane that goes from BA to Cordoba in Uruguay (It cost $50 one way in 1995) about a 2 hr trip. You c n then take a bus (collectivo) from Cordoba to Montevideo.
