OF COURSE

GUATEMALAN PEOPLE ARE ALSO AMERICANS! For your information AMERICA is a continent and not a country and Guatemala is part of that continent.

People in Guatemala dress like normal people dress in the USA.

Guatemala has a diversity in culture, Mayans dress native customs which are BEAUTIFUL and more expensive than "normal" clothes.

They put their pants on one leg at a time.

Those of spanish descent, dress just like gringo's. Those of Mayan descent, were colorful clothes that are hand woven. The color of the blouse/shirt, represents where they are from.

guatemalans dress like how we dress here. in some places they dress in typical indian clothes. some people are updated to the fashion although it gets there kind of late but overall yeah, they dress like us.

I am aware that the men have their own National clothing.
The people in the cities wear modern clothes like us.
Their traditional clothes: the women and girls in the rural areas, the Mayans, wear the "huipil" which is a blouse with laced material and embroidery and they wear a wrap-around skirt called "enredo".
As far as I understand it, each garment identifies the group and village from which its wearer comes.
I did not see any man wearing traditional clothing so I cannot describe or tell you anything.

Pants first, then shoes.

No seriously, not exactly just like Americans, but similar. Most guys wear jeans all the time, many have cowboy boots. Shorts are worn pretty much only by little kids or at the beach. Nearly 50% of the population is Mayan, and many of the women dress in the traditional "traje" or local design of woven outfits. These designs differ from region to region and indeed villiage to villiage. Its even possible (to the trained eye) to determine where someone is from based on the pattern of their clothes.

Many of the men have abandoned traje for the more economical jeans and button up dress shirt. The non-mayan population dresses much like the rest of the Western world. People do tend to dress rather conservatively, especially when going into a Catholic church. The visitor would be advised to as well, but its not like you are going to be denied service in restaurants or anything. Some discotecas have dress codes for admittance, but that is mostly the expensive ones in Guatemala City.
