im in el salvador and things are pretty cheap here we use the dollar but everything is still 1/4 of what you would pay in the u.s |

The prices have gone up since they switched from the Colon to the dollar. Supposedly you can still buy things with colones, and they price things in both dollars & colones in a lot of places, but I've never really seen people use anything but dollars.
The prices depend on where you buy things. If you go down to El Centro and buy things off the streets things will be much cheaper than if you go to an upperclass mall (Metro Centro, MultiPlaza), where things will be closer to American prices. |
