I have never been to Baranquilla but I have been to Cucuta, I do not like it there, I can't say weather or not it is dangerous or safe, because I do not know... but I lived through the night. You just have use common sense! Try not to wander around in the night and do not flash expensive items such as iPods, cell phones, cameras, or jewelry. Plus if you are on a bus I do not think there is anything to worry about except the bus getting into an accident.
Anyways good luck! That is a long ride, I would have taken a plane if I were you. |

dont mind that fool with the first answer.
i was in columbia all last summer and loved it.the cities are safe.the country side is a bit unsecure (just once common sence is used)
if taking buses in columbia take them by day and you will be ok,
