How is the weather in Costa Rica during august?

If you are on the "Central Plain" where San Jose is which is 3,800 feet above sea level where the clouds kiss the mountian tops - the temperature never gets lower than 59 degrees in the early morning hours or higher than 86 during the day - ALL YEAR AROUND! - Unless you are up in the mountains where is gets a tad cooler.

Everyone makes a fuss about their "Rainy season" - what a bunch of Bull! I have been going there for the last twelve years and it rained once that lasted all of about one and a half hours! - Why they even bother to call it a rainy season I'll never know!

Southern Costa Rica - especially around Golfito and Palma de Norte gets humid and hotter as all get out year round!

Costa Rica does'nt get hurricanes!

Its rainy on the Pacific side, drier on the Caribbean side end of August!
Northern Guanacaste is the driest part of Costa Rica.

Rain, rain and more rain.

Kinda rainy.
Rainy season starts in May/June. Then it gets a little dryer on July.
Rainy season's "worst" month is October, and then dry season starts on December.

Ditto on the hurricanes. It is pretty rainy everywhere in August but in the mountains the mornings should still be sunny and in Guanacaste the driest province there won't be constant rain so you still get out and enjoy things. The Atlantic is the wettest area of Costa Rica in general but ironically when it is wettest in the rest of the country it is sunnier there (late August thru early October).

it may be hurricane season there. Its will be hot, but rainy i think.
