It depends on WHEN you are going there.
Remember that it is in the Southern Hemisphere so the Summer there would be Winter in the Northern Hemisphere and the other way around in the Summer of the Northern Hemisphere.
I was there in mid-Sept, 2 yrs ago. Lima was damp! Every day we were there it was a little bit chilly in the mornings, evenings and nights and felt damp. Sometimes it had a misty drizzle.
It would be sunny and cool at mid-day.
The rural areas were also cold in the mornings and evenings. Sunny and cool in the peak of the day but it was warm on Machu Picchu and I was so surprised. I thought, being so high up in the mountain, it would be cold or at least cooler than the lowlands/valleys. But it was warm and we had to remove our sweaters. But then I forgot my sunblock that day and had a sunburn on my arms and neck. Also, there were chiggers or some sort of insect bites my group and I suffered from, when we took off our sweaters (covering). My friend got it so bad that it itched even when she got home to the USA and had to see a doctor. All those anti-itch creams/sticks did not help her. |

The weather in Peru depends where you are- the mountains or the coast. At the moment on the coast it's just getting into spring and it's starting to get nice and sunny; in the mountains it is coming into the rainy season so although it's nor raining all the time, you are likely to get a bit wet - pack a raincoat! |

Currently, it's still a little chilly in the morning but the sun is already shining throughout most of the day. It is the southern hemisphere here, so summer is approaching. Thus it should get progressively warmer as we move towards the end of the year. |
