How much are clothes in Costa Rica?

I'm wondering how much clothes would be in Costa Rica? I'm wondering where are there cute, cheap shops. Or like vintage places there. Is there a main shopping district that has tons of stores? Please answer, thanks.

Hey, if you are looking for cheap and vintage stuff, try what they call in Costa Rica "Ropa Americana" or "Cleveland." They're places where they sell clothing that people in the US have donated to charity. You would be surprised at the type of stuff that you can find there. I am told that there is some really ratty stuff, but if you spend the time, you can find some real gems.
Other than that, you can expect to pay the same amounts that you would pay in the United States if you go to one of the big malls here. You can find better prices around the Central Market and Coca Cola Bus terminal areas, but the quality is much lower.
Oh! And September is the month to do your shopping in Costa Rica. Just about every store has a sale with 30 to 50% off. I bought some great Timberland hiking boots for $30 dollars a couple of days ago. I hope that helps.
If you need more information about Costa Rica, try the TicosLand.com web directory. It is available in both English and Spanish.

Tons of stores in a main shopping district...jaja! no...

We have different malls, and different places with way too different prices.

If you are in San Jose Downtown you can find the cheapest...

If you go to the MALL SAN PEDRO, you can find really expensive stores, but other really cheap.

If you go to MULTIPLAZA DE ESCAZU, at Escazu,or MULTIPLAZA DEL ESTE at Curridabat, you can find well know brands, like: tommy hillfiger, united colors of benetton, ZARA, adidas, nike, and lots of recognized stores.

Expensive clothes can be, lets say, a blouse can be: $71, shoes can be $180, leather jackets: $250, night dress: $350, $400...

Medium price, nice clothes: blouse: $20, shoes $25/$30...

It all depends of where you buy, what you want and your budget.

the truth is that clothes there unless they are designer names are really crappy and low quality. even walmart makes better clothes than what u will find there. i would stay away from tourist clothing shops cuz they will overprice u knowing that u have money....good luck!!!

We bought many good, cheap stuffs at stores in Central Ave,downtown San Jose. Also you can find a whole block of souvenir and gift shops next to Museo Nacional(National Museum).Central ave is pedestrians only business area so that you can enjoy shopping at there.

x Spitz dogs are number 1 x
Clothes in Costa Rica are surprisingly expensive (in San Jose) and ugly(like frilly jeans, short bouses etc) they dress up all the time there!

Anywhere else, like in smaller cities you can find all sorts of small family owned stores that sell cheap clothes. For the biggest and cheapest variety, go to the Costa Rica-Panama Border...You can find alll sorts there

:)
