South America was COLONIZED by Spain and Portugal, why is it so extraordinary that they are alike in some ways?...
Portugal, Spain and Italy have a lower economic level than the US? Have you actually been to Europe?...
Have you heard of something called the euro that currently is worth 1,5 dollars?...
There are no countries in South America that have italian as an official language.
and
The MAIN language in South America is not spanish but portuguese.
Edit: I never said the "official language of south america" (South America DOESN'T have an official language, it's a continent not a country) was portuguese, read what I wrote, portuguese has more speakers than spanish in South America because Brazil's population is bigger than the population of all the other spanish speaking south american countries... |

Actually, S. America has a big array of climate also (see where southern Chile is). Europe has more going in economics, mostly because over the years they 'came together' to create a bigger global economy using the Euro. There's a big diversity in religion too, though I believe that Catholicism (sp) is prevelent in S. America (actually so is Mormonism, LDS). Though Spanish is the predominant language in S. America, there are different dialects by region (my grandson's other grandparents are from Chile). Both continents have a rich history dating back many many years. |

there is no italian speaking people in any countries of latin america, but one french (french guyana)
the climate is different..... southern europe = mediteranean
latin america= south, atlantic and pacific
dark-haired , there are more dark-haired in england than in north italy .
in latin america people are mix with indians ,
and in southern europe the dark-haired is because of the sun and it's in the south so it's normal....
economic in europe is more great than in latin america
=D only thing relative is the languages .and the cultures (catholic ect )cause of the colonisations |

For me it seems very different because of one simple factor, economy |

They are very similar since they are colonies of Spain and Portugal. Someone wrote the official language in south America was Portuguese, that's completely untrue. The official language, spoken by most south american countries is and has always being Spanish, Brazil is the only country with Portuguese as the official language and it's population is not the majority of south america.
The climates differ, but are generaly tropical in the coasts and jungle, and colder in the highlands.
No country speaks italian here, lathough there are some vey small ones that speak french.
We have dark hair as a result of our spanic european heritage and mostly because the natives have black hair.
The economic level is obiously lower than europe, but countries like Chile, Brasil and Argentina are progressing in the economic level. |
