How strong is anti-American feeling in Argentina?

Don't judge anti-american feeling with what you see on the streets every time Bush goes to a Latinamerican country. Most of the rioters are paid rioters who go to the streets to protest because they have been paid to do so, even if they have no idea what they're doing.
I have been 7 times to Argentina and I have not seen or felt any anti american feeling. Just go and try and not bea flashy american tourist and you'll be fine.
There is no anti american feeling in countries like Argentina, Chile, Peru, but I would be very careful if going to Venezuela, Bolivia or Ecuador as their leaders are openly against the US.

No problem with Americans the people are very warn and hospitable.

The anti american feeling is more political than personal. Try not to start any political discussions and you'll be fine, ...just kidding. You'll have a great time.

Let me know if you want any pointers on where to go / what to do, I am a US citizen living in Buenos Aires.

The number of people embarrassed by the losers who rioted (on only a couple of blocks in the entire city) in Mar del Plata is 100X the number of rioters. It was safe then, it is safe now.

The rioters are mostly communists or paid off by left wing parties because they don't have jobs and spend their time in marginal lower middle class neighborhoods sleeping and drinking beer because they have nothing else to do. You are unlikely to come across more than one or two in your trip.

I lived almost 6 years in Buenos Aires and met two "Anti-American" people, both were friendly and wanted to debate not "riot" against me. Almost all the rest of the people are either not interested in politics or are concentrated on Argentine politics.

Remember, the economy crashed in 2001 and the years of 1999-2004 were very hard for most people, specifically because of corruption and incompetence of Argentine politicians. They don't think about Bush or Americans - ask them about Menem, De La Rua, Duhalde, Cavallo, Lopez Murphy,Carrio, Alfonsin and Macri - then you'll get a reaction.

The problem isn't with americans in general, the problem is with Bush, because he's a problem for the world.
So, the feeling is anti-Bush, not anti-american.
