The people are extremely friendly. It is not so violent there. THe food isnt terrific but the ambiance and culture are a real draw

There is not too much to do in Nicaragua. They are trying to rebuilt their country since the end of the civil war in the 80's, and there is not touristic infrastructure there.
Managua have only one or two places to see like Lake Tiscapa, ans a couple of Malls.
Granada is a littler bit more interesting, is a colonial town, with Beautiful landscapes, but I don't think you can do too much there after a couple of days.
Telephone calls rates are a kind of expensive, then is better if you can get a Internet connection (sometimes is not easy) ans use skype.
People...Mmmm...I think nicaraguans need to learn a little bit more about customer care, but in general, they are kind people.
I hope you enjoy your time there more than I did.
