This is a very broad question and impossible to answer without more information. The best thing to do is to get a guide book (Lonely Planet and Moon guide are my favorites) which will answer your questions

There are hotels everywhere. Depending on you taste and needs, you can pay from $10/nite up to $2000/nite. There are lots of buses going almost everywhere. Taxis are cheap. An average typical Tico meal consisting of meat, beans, rice & salad costs about $2. Jumbo shrimp dinner costs $10.00. The water is potable in most all areas. |

WHY do you want to go? Surfing? Nature? Hookers? Fishing?
Hotels: There are hotels in the major cities and some of the larger tourist towns... other areas have houses to rent, small family owned cabinas, etc.
Transportation: You will fly in San Jose, then you can get a taxi, take a bus, or rent a car.... all depends on where you want to go.
Food: Yes, they have food there. |
