I am a teacher, and ?

I have been to Guatemala - many cities and rural areas. I want to teach students the basics of Guatemalan culture - i.e. dress, holidays, lifestyles, government, major exports, economy, etc.. My school is hosting a multicultural night and our class has chosen Guatemala as our country to represent. I love the culture and the people - any suggestions as to what might be interesting/important for 3rd graders to know? Most of my students are between 9 and 11 years old. Thanks for your help.

WOW there is so much but let me see.

*Guatemala has 22 naitve languages that spoken only in the rural areas (as you may have noticed in your visit)
*In Guatemala is Spring all year long
*Holly Weelk (easter week in the US) is a really important an big cultural event in Guatemala
*Tamales which is the most representative and famous native dish is a dough with a little tomatoe sauce (called recado) rappred in banana tree leaves and boiled for a couple of hours. This dish dates from the Mayan era.
