A valid (unexpired) US Passport and possibly a Drivers License is all you need. You may want to bring your Drivers License because it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Patrick D
Your passport is enough, enjoy Central America!

Not when you are a naturalized citizen (congratulations, by the way) with a US Passport. Apparently they misunderstood your citizenship status.

If you are an American citizen, your American passport should be fine.

helplessromatic2000
No that is NOT true. Because you are a US citizen a US passport is all you need to leave and enter the united states. Please call the US Department of State for more info at 202-647-5225

ed-mike

Take as much info that you have...Voters registration, license, etc. The regulations on Border crossings are getting stricter.

No, it is not true. The US only cares if you are an American or not. It does not care what you were before.

Good luck!

No, I wasn't born in this country, but I've been since birth, a U.S. citizen. Though I have dual citizenship, I've never had to show anything but my U.S. passport. Who keeps a current passport of another country once they have a U.S. passport? What for?
