PANAMA, why?

Panama is home to the hemisphere's largest free trade zone, the Colón Free Zone http://www.zonalibredecolon.com.pa/main_eng.htm it occupies more than 800 acres and has over 2000 companies that operate or are represent on it’s complex. The Free Zone is typically not for tourists buying a single item, but is more geared toward businesses.

Because of the canal, Panama is able to offer duty-free shopping for goods from around the world. Such as Swiss watches, liquors from around the world, Japanese cameras and other electronics, French designer perfumes, and Italian silks are among the bargains available in Panama City.

Panama’s free zone has made it the new Hong Kong of Americas. Here, you can find the latest in electronics, fashion and jewelry of the best name brands offered beside the beautiful local arts and crafts.

Clothes, Electronics and Duty Free Shopping, clothes and household bargains, electronics, appliances and computers offered at very cheap prices even if you compare with the original at the factory.

Three free zone area in Panama:

1. Duty free shopping at Tocumen International Airport offers a very nice variety of shops and selections

2. The Colon Free Zone (the biggest in America) has acres of stores.

3. Fuerte Amador Mall at the end of the Amador Causeway is a nice condensed version of that Panama has available. It is one of two terminals the second being in Colón. This terminal is generally used by cruise ships that have transited the canal.

4. Colón 2000 Cruise Terminal is a cruise port in Colón and really has about the same items to offer as the mall at the Amador. The Colon 2000 terminal is generally for cruise ships that are docking in Colon for the entire day and not entering the Panama Canal.

Understand that unless you are shopping on the Amador with the arrival of a cruise ship or in the international section of the airport; any purchases will remain in the free zone area and delivered to the airport or ship at the time of your departure.

Panama offers a lot of bang for your buck and there no need to change currencies since the US dollar is the national currency here in Panama.

I do know in argentina you can get a good value for your buck.
I am sure that in argentina you can buy leather goods very cheap, they wont last a lifetime but they will give you more than a year.

Then if youre hungry with $100 you are a very rich person at any restaurant and disco and can get many friends around, its like having 2 grand in miami.

Also venezuela has a cheap unofficial rate, and its a beautiful country.

Other than the other countries might be cheaper currency wise, yet they wont be better traveling wise..

Be wise.

Argentina is the bargain country at the moment .
You can eat real cheap in restaurants ..
But I much prefer Brazil.
The people are open and outside Sao paulo most places are cheap..Especially , in the North. Great Music , fabulous beaches
Never change money at airports, they always rip you off .

Use AM machines . In Brazil travel agents give better exchange rates, but you must sometimes negotiate.

Argentina.
i was there recently, you can get a lot of stuff really cheap.
if shopping, go to Florida street in buenos aires. get a hotel nearby. you will eat like a queen and wont spend so much. also uruguay is nice, there i ate great meals the most i spent in one was 14 dollars
