It can be pretty cold! Especially because most Peruvian hotels don't have central heating and you have to request a space heater. A hot shower and warm jammies are going to be your best friend after a long day wandering in the mountains.

You'll want to pack a lot of layers. As cold as it gets at night, you can find yourself sunburnt and sweaty during the day. The Rainforest area, of course, is much warmer and wetter than say Cuzco or Lima, so be prepared for all of it.

If you're going to spend time in the rainforest, be sure to get your shots. Also bring water purification tabs and your own toilet paper. Have fun!

I'm also going to Peru this summer. Though, I'm Peruvian but I'm excited. Right now, Peru is heading into winter which is like Fall for us. It's not too cold but you should wear a sweater. You can visit Cuzco, Iquitos (Jungles), Lima and the great new buildings that have been made especially visit Miraflores. But I also think that you should go to Churin which is a place that almost every Peruvian knows about. It has thermal baths and nice springs that you can shower in. The ride over there is a little scary but it's worth it. Take lots of pictures.

If you are coming to Cusco it is getting colder at least until july, but is not cold during the day, it is sunny during the day with blue sky most of the time but as it grow darker it becomes colder 5 degrees celcious even 0 it means to wear a good jacket, gloves and a hat at night.

But the weather is different at the jungle because is lower so is warmer, light t-shirts with sleeves to avoid mosquitos bites especially in places farway from towns or cities.

You'll want to take a couple of hoodies and jeans. It does get a bit cool. My husband is from Trujillo, Peru. I've got friends from Camana & Cuzco.

It gets cold regardless of the temperatures your given due to the wind and the construction of the housing. I am currently living in a concrete house in Lima and I wear a sweater with an undershirt and pants and I´m still cold (I´m from NY). It does rain in Lima although nothing more then a drizzle.

It is summer in the Andes which means the days are hot with an intense sun and cold in the shade and at night. Bring layered clothing so you can adjust to the changing climate. In the Jungle it´s hot and humid, the less clothes you bring the better, just concentrate on bringing bug spray and make sure you get vaccinations against malaria and yellow fever.

If you have any question or need great tours for cheap in Peru go to www.karikuy.org their profits go to community projects and you will really get to experience the country.
