Chile's fantastic. I lived in Valpo for a semester in 06, and I can't wait to get back. Education is fine, although student and teacher strikes are fairly common, especially in the University systems (at least they were when I was there). As for fun things to do, Valpo's fun in itself. Plaza Victoria and Cerro Alegre are especially beautiful. Both Valpo and Viña del mar have lots of activities in the summer, such as carnivals and the occasional concert. There are also always the beaches and the sand dunes closer to Viña. Valpo/Viña are fantastic, beautiful cities. The toughest part will be getting used to the Chilean accent. It is quite distinct, and they use a lot of slang, but after a few weeks you wont even notice. ¡Suerte!

i lived in chile for 6 years. Valparaiso can be fun cause its a beach. You can explore the city and all that too. During the summer, carnivals are set up and people go there to meet other people. Education is good if your willing to pay a bit every month. i think my parents payed around 40 bucks a month to send me a nice school, so its not that expensive. You'll meet some great people, trust me. I cant wait to go to chile again. Have fun!
