I am planning to go to Costa Rica end October (2 weeks). Will the weather be OK? What should I not miss?

I definetively want to see the beaches everyone talks about. I also like natural parks as long as there's something to do rather then just observing the animals (i.e. rafting, kayaking, etc). But on the other hand I am also quite urban and need a dose of cute villages / interesting places to stay.

In October is still raining every day (normally from lunch to early evening) . But the mornings are usually sunny even in the middle of rainy season.

To do things other than just watching the animals in protected areas, you could go to Manuel Antonio (try www.maqbeach.com) in the pacific coast .. or to the Monteverde area up in the cloud forest (try www.monteverdeinfo.com) . Lots of tree top walkways and rides here.

Another cool place near Arenal volcano is La fortuna (www.lafortunainfo.com)

Don't rent a car (crooked highway cops love to brive foreigners). Public buses can take you anywhere and they are very safe (just don't leave your bags unattended or out of sight)

Enjoy your stay in my country!

Don't forget Corcovado National Park and take the trip out to Cano Island.

costa rica
October is the height of the rainy season on the Pacific coast.
Go to the Caribbean coast.

I live on Costa Rica, weather in October is a little rainy to be honest. Everything you said you can do it here and we have an advantage, our country is small, with a lot of nature blesses, so you can find urban places near to the Nature places almost in every corner!!!
