There are other good choices within Nicaragua to buy beachfront land, such as Tupilapa. I heard that prices in San Juan del Sur have gone ballistic lately. Just make sure to hire a good lawyer to make sure everything is fine with the property they're offering.
And dear Donacula, people leave Nicaragua not because it's unsafe or anything: it's just that there are not many employment options at this moment. |

It is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere (Haiti being the poorest). Although VERY poor, there are no gangs, which I found surprizing! There are DRUGS in a lot of corners though. So, like any place you go to, be careful, whatever you do, wherever you go there. |
