Ok, first check out the official site of the country:
www.visitiguatemala.com

I recomend that you should go first to Antigua. Panajachel, Guatemala City and Chichicastenango it´s not far from there.

Then, you can go from Guatemala City to Rio Dulce, Livingston and then to Tikal. Near TIkal there is Peten Itza lake (beautiful place).

After Tikal, you can go to Coban, and visit Semuc Champey and Lanquin caves (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/72/Semuc_Champey.JPG/800px-Semuc_Champey.JPG)

Before you go, you MUST go to Pacaya Volcano and see the lava rivers.

Antigua and Rio Dulce could be your ¨headquarters¨.

regards.

Even in the Rainy season it is usually only showers in the morning.

My list...
Antigua Guatemala,
Tikal,
Panajachel,
Chichicastenango,
Rio Dulce,
Guatemala City.

Antigua makes a great base of operations and you can do day or overnight trips to all the places listed.

Depends on how long your visit is. Antigua is a must. Skip anything in capital city, it's dirty and not that safe. If you must stay there, check out Museo Ixchel and Museo Popul Vuh. Also if you have time go to Lake Atitlan, its beautiful.

If you go to Quetzaltenango (sp), locally known as Xela, ask the locals about hot springs about 45 min. outside of town. There is a wonderful hot springs near Xela in the mountains. It is warmed by the volcanos. Picture perfect! Absolutely wonderful.
