Cartagena is one of the most beautiful places in South America..for me, its the most romantic
I would go to the old town, When I went there, i stayed til midnight just walking around admiring the city, usually there are horse carriages that take you in for the typical tour, but the best thing to do is to do that tour and keep on walking around the city, the beauty there is unexplainable, and there are really nice restaurants there that look like they were taken out of a fairy tale.. the beaches arent my favorite, but just off the coast there is a group of islands, about half an hour away-they are very assesible because usually youll find guys on the sides of streets trying to sell you a pack to a one day get away there, theyre called "las islas del rosario"...so walk around the old town, and go to las islas del rosario, there are a lot of things to do there, it is one of the most relaxing places.
