Ecuador i think is better cuz have a lot of touristic places that you can visit and is really great. In Quito you can visit a lot of monuments and touristic places well that is in the downtown but in the Quito City is modern and is cool. Galapagos is really awesome, i have never been there but there r a lot of animals unique and is very beautiful is awesome i recommend you to go to Ecuador, is great!!
And is great cuz is a little country so like you go just 5 days you can visit more places than in Peru!!

Hope this helps and good Luck!!

xoxo

go to ecuador they have quito, guayaquil, GALAPAGOS. or beaches that are amazing. you can see all the snow-capped mountains or got to the amazon where you can see all type of exotic animals that you wont be able to see anywhere else. there is also a town in Ibarra called san antonio in which sells AMAZING wooden sculptures all made by hand, specially in this store called galleria luis potosi. it has a unique culture and has a lot of stuff to see. i definitely recommend you go to ecuador. YOU WILL LOVE IT

One of my best friends was just in Ecuador for three weeks. She has been RAVING about how wonderful it was!

She toured Quito, and some small market villages and went into the Amazon, and then spent some time on the beach. She had the best time! (she also got eaten alive by bugs, someone somewhere recently told me Applce Cider Vinegar...drink a little in water every morning...try it...can't hurt anything)
Plus, the Galapagos could be part of your trip!

On the other hand...Macchu Picchu. Need I say more? You have a tough dilemma.

If you only have 5 days, I would definitely choose Ecuador. I really love both countries, but Ecuador is so much smaller than Peru and is WAY easier to see more places in a short time frame. You can take the bus virtually anywhere in Ecuador and see tons of places. Quito is nice, but I would recommend getting out to the coast, Montenita is amazing and definitely worth a visit. Otavalo is great, Banos is a great place to get a taste of the Amazon and all these places are easily accessible by bus. Save Peru for when you have more time. Visiting it in 5 days won't do it justice. If you want to visit Galapagos, I would plan a separate trip just to go there. Again, 5 days isn't enough for the Galapagos.

That's not enough time! I love Ecuador and it's people the most, but at some point every person must see Machu Pichu.

So hard to choose.
Both places are definitely worth visiting for the views, food, culture, history, music, night life...
But I'd go to Peru.
Peru's one of my favorite destinations.

Chileno hasta la muerte!!!!
ECUADOR!!!!!!!!
Peru sucks, but the best country in south america is Chile.
The PISCO is of CHILE not peruvian.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PERU!!!!!!!!! In five days you can visit cusco in all its splendor!! One day, you vo the city tour and near ruins as sacsayhuaman, kenko, tambomachay, 2nd day you go to macchupicchu and if you want take a night in aguas calientes and return the next day to cusco, then you go to sacred valley , urubamba, chincheros and ollantaytambo. believe me, you will find amazing days and nights there!!.
Dont forget to do a gastronomic tour too!! You can find wonderful restaurant, Remember that the peruvian food is one of the best in the world!! And of course our peruvian drink : PISCO SOUR!! delicious!
Hope you decide to visit us!!

Go to Peru.
You will not regret it. 5 days is more than enough to visit Macchu Picchu. Everyone has to see it at least once in their lives. The view from up top is amazing. You see so much green, the air is clean and the ruins are unbelievable. It makes you wonder how such a beautiful construction was built on the top of a mountain. You can't miss this chance to see it!
