Boniato is a sweet potato and a zapallito is a little zucchini.
My favourite way of cooking the sweet potato is to drizzle some oil on some skinned chunks and baking them in the oven with whole onions.
Not a huge fan of zucchini, I really like them slathered in salt and pepper, spread with a little oil and grilled. |

I know them both ! They are cousins & are owners of the fruit market ..
Originally they came from Sicilly but they migrated to Sydney & had the fruit & veg shop in a Five Dock
They migrated to Uraguay in the late 70's & must have done well to have fruit or veg named after them ! |
