Javier Pérez de Cuéllar Guerra:
born in Lima (January 19th 1920). He's a Peruvian diplomat who served as the fifth Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1, 1982 to December 31, 1991. With the death of Kurt Waldheim in June 2007, he became the oldest former Secretary General of the United Nations. At this moment I think he lives in France. He was the Peruvian ambassador in France around 2004.
Mario Vargas Llosa:
born in Arequipa, Peru on March 28, 1936
He's a Peruvian writer and politician who is one of Latin America's leading novelists and essayists.
Popular fiction works:
1963 – La ciudad y los perros; English translation: The Time of the Hero (1966)
1966 – La casa verde; English translation: The Green House (1968)
1973 – Pantaleon y las visitadoras; English translation: Captain Pantoja and the Special Service (1978)
He moved to Spain a long time ago and I think he still lives there. I think he's still writting and he's a member of the "Real Academia de la Lengua Española"
Pedro Paulet
(born July 2, 1874 in Arequipa, Peru; died 1945 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) was a Peruvian scientist who in 1895 became the first person to build a liquid-fueled rocket engine.
Claudio Miguel Pizarro Bosio:
(born 3 October 1978 in Callao, Peru) is a Peruvian professional football (soccer for Unitedstatians or "Americans") forward. Pizarro plays for Chelsea of the English Premier League and for the Peru national football team, for which he has 38 caps (as of September 12, 2007).
He still plays soccer in Europe. He had problems with a club he owns in Lima because the bouncer of the club mis treated a peruvian guy who didn't look white enough or "cool" to be allowed in the club. He insisted to get in and the bouncer attacked him. The club had a fine and they desserved it. Sorry I don't like this guy but he's famous.
Nolberto Albino Solano Todco:
(born December 12, 1974, Callao, Peru) is a Peruvian football player who currently plays for English club West Ham United. He is a popular figure in his native Peru, where he is seen as one of the most famous Peruvians. He even has a postage stamp in his name and figure.
He still plays soccer in Europe.
Jaime Hildebrandt (media, communicator)
Gian Marco Javier Zignago AlcĂłver (singer, writer)
Susana Baca de la Colina (musician, afro-peruvian singer)
