It would be really hard to have a day trip to Costa Rica from Panama....You would not have enough time to see anything......You would want a minimum of 3 days to see some of the sights.....I would suggest find a little more time to stay and not waste money just to see the airport.....

You might be able to take a car trip,or a plain maybe you could even go around bt boat?I hear its very beautiful in Costa Rica.Well if you go I hope you have a great time!

If you are near the frontier of Panama on the Caribbean side you could go to Bocas del Toro and from there you might do a tour of some of the islands. You could buy Ngobe Indian crafts too. The Caribbean border is about 5 hours by bus from San Jose and the Pacific/David border is 6-7 hours. There is not much to do in David.

Try Tica Bus, it's a good bus company that transport you to San Jose CR, From Panama City, PA

Tickets are from $30 to $50.

It will be expensive and you will not be able to see anything. There are flights that leave in the morning (10 a.m.) from Panama city to San josé and can bring you back at 4 p.m. The flight is only 50 minutes. However, you can maybe go to Chiriqui and take a flight from there in Air Panama, it's cheaper.

If you don't care about the capital city, you could go to Bocas Del Toro or Chiriqui and get a tour around the islands or the border zone.

You do not have time to see any of C.R. places, museums, or anything, because it will take 5 hours from the border to San Jose the capital. You should plan to stuy at least 2 or 3 days.
