IMPORTANT: How to contact people in Colombia, Colombian people finder? |
I was adopted in 1991 i am 18 years old now, and i have contacted the place of where i was adopted, its called CRAN (Centro para la Rehabilitación y Adopción del Niño) in Bogota, Colombia. They have provided me information about my mother, like the fact i have a little brother, and the name of my father that i did not know. My mother ran away when she was pregnant with me because she was not financially able to care for me at the time, from what i know my father has no idea of my existence. Her name is Ana Victoria Pita Higuera.
My boyfriend is in colombia right now visiting family, and hes going to the adoption agency for me to try and get more information. When they wrote me back they said he has the right authorization to obtain the records, Is that just my consent or what else? A friend said i had to get it with a seal (i didn't know what it is called) by a lawyer, and send it to him in Colombia.
And the last part of my problem is finding a online web pages to locate her and maybe get a phone number, that is in Bogota Colombia.
Please someone help me.
And also please don't tell me to wait for the agency to respond back or any of that because that's not the type of answer i am looking for. Additional Details Do i have to get my documents notarized? Where do i get that done at? Where is the colombian embassy in florida? |

I'm from Colombia, and the only resource I came up with was checking the different white pages available in the country. I found a website for Publicar, the biggest phone book company in the country (the link is listed in the bottom). They have an online search option, so you could try there. The only problem is that the information is organized by town, which means it could take a long time before you succeed. My suggestion is using the information they gave you at the CRAN, or searching in the most important cities (Bogota, Medellin, Cali, Bucaramanga, Cartagena, Barranquilla or Manizales, to name a few) to narrow your search a little bit.
I read in the news the website was just redesigned, so my guess is that the information available was updated recently. In case the CRAN provided you with other names besides your mother's, you could also try to reach them.
Another option you could try (if you haven't already) is Facebook or MySpace...I'd say it's along shott, but you never know...
I really hope you can find her. Good Luck!! |

I would check with the agency that issues Cedulas. Then I would ask for access to Archivo Registraduria Nacional. This might be the best way, since you have all the names of your mom.
The seal you need is called an apostille or apostillado This is issued by, usually the LT gov. office in your state.
You can google her name. You might get a hit. Also seach sites like Hi5, sonico and others like that, she might have a profile.
I wish you the best. |

Like the previous poster said, I found http://www.paginasamarillas.com/pagamanet/web/homewhite.aspx?ipa=1&idi=1 which is the white pages portion.
As for the document that might be mentioned, when I got married, I had to get the document signed and stamped by the consulate or embassy in the state where it originated. In other words, do a document in spanish stating you give your boyfriend authorization to look for the information. Then go to the Colombian embassy/consulate and get it authenticated/stamped. Then DHL or FEDEX it to him.
Below is link to Colombian consulates/embassies in the states.
good luck
PS- here is another white pages for telefonica phone company...... http://www.directoriotelefonico.com.co/
PSS- go here http://www.directoriotelefonico.com.co/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=84&searchworda=bogota+telefono
Go to the tab Descargar directorios. You can download all the directories (Bogota is 550 mb) and put them all in one directory on hard drive then do a search of that directory using windows explorer. Make sure to search inside archives. It is one longshot but who knows.
Again...good luck |
