at the time i would not recommend to anybody to go to Bolivia, beautiful country and safe most of the times but at the moment is in the middle of a big crisis, and is not safe for anyone, so you should probably wait.

Read some Bolivia news to find out what's going on over there.

Stay close to your hotel and don't go look for prostitues if you decide to go.

The advice about crime, is good but I imagine you are also worried by the civil unrest. If you are going to the Altiplano and the highlands it should be all right (I will be there from the 2nd till the 22nd and have been in daily contact). If you are going to the lowlands, there is a chance that the unrest could flare up again and you could be trapped by road blocks.

I think you should probably wait because there is a crisis going on and you probably dont want to be there right now.

yes its safe in the main city's during the day. at night i recommend you use cabs going going place to place..If you go to villages out side the city travel with some on else or let some on know where your going and when you expect to arrive....When traveling by air never hold or carry any other persons bags or luggage there could be drugs in it .1-2 years in jail just waiting to go to court. p.s. U.S Gov. can't help you that much. Good luck
