Your GPS will work anywhere on Earth that it has a clear view of the sky. All it really does is calculate your latitude and longitude.
Whether your GPS will put that position on a useable map depends on the brand, and possibly model, of your GPS unit.
www.gpsfiledepot.com has some free maps for Garmin units that may include Colombia, I dunno. THe forums at geocaching.com have lots of knowledgable people that could help more.

It would work depending on the company you have bought it from. I know that Tomtom navigation covers most of the world but you have to actually update some of them when you are going to be using it in a different country.
The best advice is get in contact with the company who provide your gps and ask them:
1. Do they cover Colombia
2. Do you need to download or buy new software for it
That is really the best thing you can do. If you are coming to Colombia I would highly recommend using your GPS if you can as the roads here can get very confusing, as they are not marked as well as say U.S or U.K.

depends on the company from which u brought it from usually some of them already have US canada and europe if u got a decent one if not usually they have a SD card or memory card slot what u do is simply go to their website and download the country mad and then put it on the flash card and plug it in and have fun
PS they do charge for some maps as for prices IDK i never downloaded them my car had everything built in and when i used to sell them i told them this exact info

A gps will work anywhere on the planet as long as it has the proper mapping system for the area you are using it for. Most gps systems are loaded with mapping for specific parts of the world such as the United states and Canada for example. Depending on brand of gps you are asking about you should be able to purchase mapping for most any part of the world.
