If you are living in the U.S. illegally, what is the easiest way to return to your country without penalty?
My friend is homesick and his father is on his deathbed, how can he get back to Honduras in a quick and civilized manner? He cannot purchase a plane ticket because he does not have a valid ID.
Will immigration and refugee service organizations be able to help or will he go to jail for asking? He has never been in trouble with the law nor does he want to be now.
Turn him into INS. Youll get a reward, hell get a free ticket back home. And -BONUS - Another leeching Illegal GONE!!! Bet he doesnt pay taxes but mooches off of the taxes I pay. Send me his address and Ill be glad to make phone calls in his behalf.

I would not recommend anybody without residence (green card) to leave U.S. I would recommend to talk to the immigration lawyer. You may not be able to come back to U.S. Check the webe side. He will not go to jair, but I don't think he will be able to come back to U.S. He should check with the immigration lawyer. This is the best advice I could give. Especially right now that they are so strick.

Victoria2's answer is the best one! It is true if you leave, it will be really hard to come back. Don't go thru immigration because you will be deported. And if your deported you can't come back for ten years and the process is long and drawn out. Family is so important. Go home and be with your dad. The so called american dream (money) isn't worth "unhappiness".

No valid ID or no ID at all? Does he have nothing which identifies him as himself - even from another country? Can someone mail (fed ex to be safe) him his birth certificate from Honduras?
I would check with the Honduran consolate or embassy nearest where you live to see if he can get some kind of ID from them. If they will issue a Honduran passport (which will probably require his acta de nacimiento from Honduras) he should have no problems getting on a plane to go home. He will, of course, have problems coming back - though.
I would NOT contact the U.S. immigration services, though.
Hope this helps1
