I live in Lima. Family of 4, rented home, we live quite comfortably on about S/.2000 a month.
We live in a 3 bedroom-1bath home, rent is 1000 soles, includes electric, water and security. Rent has been going up recently, the real estate market in Lima is booming. I'm really not sure how much rent may be outside of the city - perhaps less, but not sure about on the beach. I seriously doubt you'd find anything that you'd really want to live in for $100 a month.
Telephone/internet is about $70 US a month.
Full package cable is about $45/month.
Food costs are about a third of what they are in the US, it's possible to eat very cheaply - you can get a full meal (soup or other first course, main course, drink) for around $1.50-2.50.
Gas is expensive, over $5 a gallon. |

I think 10 years using 10000 for anticretico in luxurious houses and main cities like Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, maybe Trujillo or Piura for warm beaches and the rest 40000 for living during 8 years (about 4000 a year). and the remaind 8000 for bus, airplanes and other tickets to different main attractions in Peru.

The rent would probably be about $1200 a year. You could easily live for 10-15 years in Peru (although their economy is getting better). You will have to give up some taken-for-granted conveniences just for moving there, however. |

Depends on your lifestyle I suppose and the luck of your investments.
I would guess spending $5000 a year if you didn't a lot. That probably would be without internet and cable by the way.
