Tamarindo is pretty quiet - not much shopping, but you can get lots of souveneirs. Check out their website for activities. Sport fishing is world-class.

tamarindo is great. you'll enjoy it. there town have shopping areas and the activities you'll see it when you arrive like surfing, horseback riding, kayaking, snorkeling... there are no volcanoes near, but if you come and stay a night or a day around the san jose area, go to the poas volcano. is amazing, one of the biggest craters in the world and you can be at the top looking inside the crater. next to the volcano or near the volcano there is a place called "la paz waterfall garden" is something lots of people expects from us and is a 15-20 min ride from the poas volcano. come and check the beauty of costa rica... |

Stay out of Tamarindo!! Dirty and sewerage problems. Too many drugs. Go to Flamongo Beach or Nosara-same general area but the people and environment are both wayyyyyyy
better. Go to the beautiful Flamingo Beach or Playa Conchal or go fishing. You can go on an ATV tour with a zipline ride-4 to 5 hours thru the countryside. Brasillito is a nice little town near there. Really economical, good food and modest accomodations, nice people, too. |

Tamarind has "grown up" in the last couple of years. - and just keeps growing and growing and growing!!
Every time I go there I hardly recognize the place!
You will find everything that your heart could possible desire in the way of shopping and any other tourist activities you could want.
If you will be staying at the Hotel Diria you will have the time of your life in any of their three huge outside pools!
Good Luck!
I go there myself every couple of years and was there two years ago.
VIVA LA PURA VIDA! |
